python3-matplotlib software package provides Python based plotting system in a style similar to Matlab (Python 3), you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python3-matplotlib
python3-matplotlib is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python3-matplotlib package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python3-matplotlib *
You will get with python3-matplotlib package name, version, architecture and description in a table
